At High School
All my friends were rascal and dandy but I was different and they noticed it as they tried to pair me with girls which I rejected.
“What sort of guy are you? Are you really a man? Does any woman arouse you?” I ignored their taunts and continued my positive living I failed to admit that I was phobic towards women. That’s was my life in high school which continued to adulthood into university.
Mom to clear her conscience and to make me forgive her gave me seed money to start my small business in selling computer parts and fixing soft and hard ware employing 10 employees five males and 5 females all experts in computer engineering my services were excellent which earns us good name with our excellent customer care mom as a business guru taught me the art outside university.
She also agreed for me to name my company after my father Bysenty Ambruce he named his only son after his father Pa Ambruce my company shortened Byam Engineering firm (BEF). My firm becomes a household name for the sale of soft/hard computer wares and services.
He was my childhood friend and neighbour we lived in a posh area and we went through nursery, high school and university and studied the same field Computer Science Nyanko also a Computer guru working for an international firm as a General Manager (GM).
Pa Ambi always seek his advice as a second opinion whenever he experienced difficulty. As a close friend he always tells him the truth no matter what unlike the other associates who praise him for crumbs.
She is very worried about her son at 36 and still single?
“Is he a normal man or something else? I never saw him with any female for that matter throughout his schooling! I’ll challenge him and get my answers from the horse’s mouth.”
Mother and Son
Mama D confronted her son:
“I am growing old look at my grey hair which I refused to dye applauding nature’s gift; don’t you want me touch/carry my grandchild at least before joining my ancestors? I am very worried and nowadays life is very short as I witness young people dying every day what about me at 62? Please show me a girl/woman and leave the rest to me; will you do that for me?”
He got crossed and protested;
“Her Majesty! Please let me be! Do I look like my late father whom you choked to death? I am a more determined stock; you know why I did to get a girlfriend throughout my schooling and yet to get married at 36? I don’t want to make the same mistake as dad did; you killed him by your bossy nature and flirtuous lifestyle, you worship money and wealth and whoever does not have it you treat as an underdog and you’ll do anything to get money, please never mention marriage to me again if you do not want me disgrace you in public!” He spat upon the floor.
Before he could realized what was happening Mama D gave Pa Ambi a nasty slap which made him lost his gait.
“Are you assaulting me? For what? Because you are my mother? A worthless one at that?”
Mama D wanted to give another slap but Pa Ambi held her hand tight;
“Never do it again before I regret what I’ll do to you; you are the worst example of a wife/mother; I am phobic of women and you made me stereotype all of them; I have to go to a psychologist to be cured of such a mindset which is very shallow; I grew and saw how you flirt with men of means, torture and make dad an object of scorn, I swore that no woman/spouse/fiancée would do that to me, I vowed to avenge dad’s death and humiliating end.”
“Get out of my house and pay me back my seed money with interest, I now have no business with you, I am disowning you, gosh!”
Pa Ambi went upstairs and came down dragging his two suitcases Mama was flabbergasted and have no idea that her bluff will result to this.
She stoop down and pleaded with her son;
“I do not mean the threat it was only a bluff, please my son don’t leave all what I work for it is yours as my only son, for your information my wealth is in your name, I have made millions which you can utilized to add to your business and be comfortable forever, what I’ve ask of you is to show me the woman you want to marry and all expenses is on me, please forgive my language and don’t go away from mommy if not my hypertension will kill me the soonest.”
She is the Governess with the family since Pa Ambi was a baby and he is very close and attach to her since Mama D was always on the move to supervise her business all over the place, Ma Kumuna is a kind humble woman so kind that if she prays Pa Ambi will come perform ablution and pray with her.
Mama D will complain;
“Prepare my son for Church please!”
“I’ll but would not discourage him if he wants to pray with me.”
Dad will then intervene;
“He is just a child please don’t confuse him.” He tellsl my mother;
“You are always away and he sees Ma as her biological mother and every Sunday she prepares him and we go to church.”
Then Mama D would scold him;
“Stupid man what do you know? Are you the one paying her? If I don’t move looking after my business, would you enjoy the lifestyle you are enjoying now, what do you get from government? Even one designer dress is more than your salary.”
Dad would response;
“You are a stupid woman I’ll not answer you. How did you start your business? Didn’t I gave you the first seed money when I came overseas which yield your big business? You are just what our people call ‘puruk’ (throat); ‘puruh do gayrem nyamidaw’ (throat does not appreciate last year’s food).
