Standing ovation for departing Barrow

Gambia sensation Modou Barrow was treated to a standing Modou Barrowovation by fans after he played his final game for Swedish outfit Ostersunds FK.

The player, due to fly back to Wales to put the final touches to his move to Swansea City of the English premier League will have a medical and later signing a contract. He was on show starring till end of time and walked off the pitch to a standing ovation from fans in recognition of his contribution to the club this season.

The 21-year-old has been on the radars of an array of clubs namely; Bolton, Celtic, Middlesbrough and Everton but Swansea could finally put to bed the speculations surrounding the player all season with the Swans set to wrap up their pursue of the Gambian.

Swansea City have reached consensus in principle with Barrow’s Swedish second tier club Ostersunds for the forward to move to Wales.

The deal fee though undisclosed but believed to be worth around 1.5 million pounds could be completed today when the wing-wizard passes his medical. He’s expected to be unveiled today afternoon.

He flew to Wales reportedly last week to take a tour of the club facilities ahead of finalizing his transfer.

Modou, who left top flight club Norkopping on a controversial note last summer, becomes the first player in Sweden football history to have made the jump from second tier football to one of the best leagues in Europe –the English premier League.
