The Sports fraternity in the country is mourning the demise of Abdou Touray Shyllon who recently passed away.
Shyllon, who sat in the Gambia Olympic House board, died of a sudden illness, according to colleagues and close friends.
An executive of Gambia Wrestling Association, Shyllon is said to have collapsed on his way to purchase spare parts on the Jimpex road in Kanifing before he was rushed to Serrekunda Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
“He was a gentleman. He was a very kind-hearted man. The GNOC has really missed a very great sports personality. It is a very, very sad day,” GNOC prexy Momodou Dibba managed to tell Foroyaa Sport of a man he had worked with for several years.
Shyllon, who is married to three wives and with several children, was buried on Tuesday at the Jeshwang cemetery.
