A former Director General of the Gambia Radio and Television Services (GRTS), Mr. Momodou Sabally, is said to be still held by the authorities for 8 days now.
When this reporter visited the family compound of Mr. Sabally in Lamin for the second time, one of his sisters who was on tears repeated the same issue that their brother is yet to return home and that they do not have access to him or know where he has been held. ‘‘We’ve have not seen or know anything about his whereabouts up to date,’’ she said.
It was reported earlier that his elder sister, Binta Sabally, told Foroyaa that her brother set out for work but never returned home since 8 November 2016.
Asked if she knows why he did not come back, the sister said they couldn’t establish the reason(s) behind what had happened. “We do not know where he is currently held. I received a call from his wife who informed me that she visited the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) headquarters in Banjul but was told that her husband is not in their custody, she said.
However, she added that relatives and friends were coming from different areas to show sympathy for their brother’s situation.
