In the first half of the match, both teams fought bitterly but did not convert their chances into goal, until the 15th minute when Wuyeh Jarra scored the opening goal for Otto Nagengast (Sutukoba) through a powerful long range shot.
In the 20th minute of the game, Gunjur (the visitors) responded with exceptional swiftness resulting in a penalty, a chance that was effectively utilized by Balemmeh Saho who leveled the score.
In the 23rd minute, Masanneh aka Roy Makaye Jabai doubled the score for Sutukoba’s Otto Nagengast academy.
The struggle continued and Alagie Baggio Jaiteh netted the 3rd goal for the host team.
The hosts did hold back as Kawsu Nyabally and Ousman Jaiteh each scored and the result recorded at break was 5-1.
Resumption saw the visitors reducing the deficit on a final 5-2 score line.
Team captain Chongan Saho and Gunjur’s Lamin Saho expressed gratitude to Mr. Suwaibou Touray for his immense contribution towards the development of football in the district in post-match comments.
