SUPER NAWETTAN BEGINS TOMORROW

Premier Games sponsored Super Nawettan Championship commences on Saturday with champions SK West to cross daggers with Banjul at the West mini-stadium.
Matches between the two sides are always a cracking episode and Saturday’s promising encounter looks no different.
West won last term’s championship dethroning then holders Brikama at the Independence Stadium.
Victory will do jolly good to West title-maintaining aspirations but with the City Boys being their adversaries, they are tipped to be in for mammoth task.
Preparations for the much coveted exciting talent ridden tournament have been immense. Beset by violence over the past two years, organizers of the event have been mulling stringent measures and already rules have been set aside as a way to curb any trouble reoccurrence including lengthy ban to be imposed on offenders and zone found wanting of misconduct.
Elsewhere Brufut take on Lamin in an all WCR derby match at the West mini-stadium with Manjai to face SK Central in Manjai.
Tuesday’s fixture will feature Sukuta up against SK East at home to East while BEM cross daggers with Bakau at Manjai Field.
Brikama aim their swords at Gunjur at the box Bar mini-stadium the sane day.
Thursday 27 November 2014, Brufut meets Banjul at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda.
Makan Bi clinches the Banjul Nawetaan league final
The Banjul Nawetaan league final which was staged yesterday, Thursday, 20 November, has been won by Makan Bi, last year’s title holders by two goals to nil against their contenders Man city at the KG5 mini stadium.
Lamin Jabbie, a half back, with support from team mate Edi Ndow, netted the first goal in the first three minutes of the first half. The second goal was scored by Sulayman Bah, who was a subistutute in the last 8 minutes, with support from Ismaila Singhateh, the team captain.
Makan Bi went home with a cash amount of D50, 000 and a trophy, while Man city received a consolation price of D30, 000.
