Sports Journalists Association of the Gambia, Sainabou Kujabi-NJie, has called it quits as president of the association.
Mrs. Kujabi-Njie resigned barely months following her re-election in a recent congress. The ex-Point newspaper Sports editor, now with City Ventures, cited maternity reasons for her resignation.
Disclosing news of her resignation, she wrote: “I write to inform the general membership of the association that Mrs. SainabouKujabi – Njie has handed a letter of resignation from the post of President of the Sports Journalists Association The Gambia, with immediate effect.
I write to tender my resignation as president of the Sports Journalists Association of The Gambia with immediate effect. This is due to maternal reasons as I want to dedicate more time to my children. I thank everyone for your trust and confidence in me over the period and hope to continue serving as a member of the Sports Journalists Association of the Gambia.”
Sainabou was first elected in 2010.
