A player from the Gambian league has been banned for the remainder of the current term by the Football Federation.
Musa Jatta from second tier side Steve Biko has been given a lengthy six-match ban after being found wanting for foul mouthing and assaulting of match officials by the League Organising Committee (OC).
Jatta is reported to have launched tirades at a match official during Biko’s match against Marimoo last Friday, and following investigation, the OC decided to ban the player till next season, meaning Musa will play no further part in his club push for promotion to the top tier.
The OC also cautioned Biko’s goalkeeper Yaya Sidibeh to desist from attacking match officials while in another tough stance against rowdiness also imposed a fine of D2,500 on Armed Forces Kits Manager Mass Lowe for ‘deliberately kicking the ball out of the mini-stadium confines’.
Reached for reaction, Biko’s gaffer Abdoulie Bojang confirmed receiving a letter from Football House detailing his player’s suspension but told Foroyaa Sport they are yet to sit over the ruling.
‘We are yet to sit over the matter but surely by Friday something definite will be out from us,’ Bojang who led the Giant Killers to the GFF premier league title in 2014 said.
