The move to dissolve the WCRSC follows after the National Sports Council deemed the regional sports entity inefficient to execute tasked assigned to it.
Reports reaching this outlet have it that the council mandated the regional body to resolve the current stand-off in Brikama sports involving nawettan team representatives and the BYSA executive.
Team reps claiming to enjoy majority backing petitioned the BYSA’s leadership to go for congress earlier than the stipulated time– a proposal the Basirou Barjoe led BYSA executive flatly rejected.
The West Coast Regional Sports Committee were asked by the council to settle the impasse, a thing, according to the NSC, the WCRSC failed to tackle.
‘The regional sports is under the NSC and are mandated to settle the impasse but failed to do as told,’ Marcel Mendy Executive Director of the NSC revealed to Foroyaa Sport yesterday.
Abdoulie Badjie, WCRSC former chairman was indisposed for comment over the dissolution when reached yesterday.
