The 19-year-old, formerly of Gambia Ports Authority has been trialing with the Tunisian champions for weeks since leaving Maltese league champions Valletta.
Spanish La Liga side Getafe were reported to have made enquiries about him in efforts to swoop for the midfielder, but it now appears Hamza could permanently join the North African giants having reportedly impressed in his audition.
Esperance coach has wide options in the middle of the park, but believes the inclusion of a player of Hamza’s caliber –with power and skills –adds creativity to his already stabled midfield.
A contract is yet to be signed between Barry and Esperance club board. Hamza turned a foreign-based player in July 2013 signing for Malta club Valletta on a one-year deal. He remains a Valletta player despite few months to the end of his agreement pending a deal with ES Tunis is struck.
ES has won the Tunisian league title 26 times and the Tunisian Cup 14th times.
