Gambia player Alieu Darbo has gotten himself a reportedly lucrative contract with Algerian top tier  Alieu Darboside MC Oran, Foroyaa Sport can report.

Darbo seals a two-year deal after the end of his season-long deal with Maltese Premier League side Mosta FC.

The Algerian giants are looking to better of their previous term third-place finish by launching a much daring approach for the league title when the new season starts.

And, in efforts to hit the outlined mark, Oran has acted fast to acquire Darbo’s services who the North African side believe can inject the required bolstering effect the club’s attack so long yearned for.

Maloudia Oran, acronym MCO, has automatically booked a place into the Confederation Cup qualifiers by virtue of a third place finish in the recently concluded campaign and Darbo is expected to play a big part in the cup competition.

‘I am happy and delighted (to have signed the deal),’ the player told Foroyaa Sport in brief yesterday evening.

Alieu , born in Sweden but opted to play for Gambia, have been linked with a move to Italy prior to this transfer.

He played for Gambia U-17s in 2009 FIFA youth World Cup hosted by Nigeria.

Dinamo Zagreb and Crotone count as the Swede Gambian’s former employers.

He becomes the second Gambian to play in Algeria’s top tier in recent years after Abdourahman Dampha.
