More Detainees Released

As the populations in the prisons and NIA detention centre are being decongested by the presidential pardon of convicted prisoners and Momodou Lamin Gassama 2the release of people in detention without trial, Foroyaa has learnt that many detainees have now regained their freedom.

Among these former detainees are Mr. Momodou Lamin Gassama, the Director of NEMA Project under agriculture, who was in detention for 68 days, and Ambu Drammeh, the mentally deranged young man, who was held incommunicado in Mile Two prison for 310 days.

Mr. Gassama is said to be at his home in Jambur Sinchu Gidom.

The families of the two have expressed their joy for the release of their loved ones and thanked all those who have been praying and giving them solidarity in their time of despair.
