Eleonore memorial tourney in high gear

Saturday’s fixture was to feature Latrikunda up against Jeshwang in a 3pm kick-off but the tie failed to hold after one of the teams failed to show up. The late kick-off between Leeds and World Eleven produced blanks.

The tournament which was first being hosted in Kanifing and now shifted to Serrekunda is aimed at bringing youths together, according to Nicol Joof husband to the deceased.Leeds and World Eleven

The championship featuring most over-30 player has attracted ten teams grouped into two categories. The tourney is expected to run till October with D3,000 for winner and D2,000 for the runners-up.

The tournament was formed in 1998 one year after Eleonores Anastasia Joof passed away. The kick-off was done by former national team player Zone King.
