Season Best for Gambian in African Games

Gambian runner Adama Jammeh logged out of the African Games with an impressive season best timing, Adama JammehForoyaa Sport can report.

The 22-year-old, grabbed from the country’s prison department, snatched a fourth-place finish in the finals of 200m last week. Jammeh clocked 20:74 seconds in Congo where the All African Games was held.

In the 200m men event, it was Ivory Coast’s Koffy Wilfred who stole the show on 20:42 seconds ahead of Nigeria’s Divine Oduduru and Odele Tega who came second and third respectively.

Jammeh while coming fourth also raced ahead of Obinna Meetu, Matsenjwa, Sydney Siame and Idriss Adam from Nigeria, Swaziland, Zambia and Cameroon.

Thank God, done for the athletes season, with 4th place with a timing of 20:74 season best (sb) at the All African Games, Congo,’ a delighted Adama wrote.

Adama who’s Gambia’s hope in the next year’s Rio Olympic Games earlier sailed through in the semis after an impressive timing in the first round.
