Demolition leads to riot in Farato

Hundreds of youths in Farato Kombo South were engaged in a riot yesterday afternoon resulting to injuries and damage to properties. Several truckloads of the police intervention unit were brought in to quell the riot.

This came about some minutes after personnel of the police intervention unit escorted workers engaged by the Physical Planning Department to demolish structures upon receiving court order. The Structures that were demolished include houses and newly erected fences. Continue reading

BENEDICT JAMMEH IS ALIVE

The embattled former director general of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDEA) Mr. Benedict Jammeh, has returned home safe and well since on March, 2017.

A native of Kanilai now residing in Busumbala was in exile in Senegal after a fallout with the ex-regime of President Jammeh.

Justice and Human Rights Conference Kicks Off

The ministry of Justice in collaboration with UNDP, and the Institute for Human Rights and Development in Africa and UNICEF Monday organized a National Stakeholders Conference on justice and human rights.
