What is the Diaspora Doing Regarding Their Right to Vote?

QUESTION OF THE DAY

The Constitution of the Gambia and the Elections Act provide for enfranchisement of the Diaspora. However, administrative decision had prevented the law from being implemented. Now the Diaspora has been making moves through petitions to the IEC to demand for time bound explanation when the IEC will implement the dictate of the law and conduct registration exercise abroad. Foroyaa will contact the IEC to find out   its reaction to the petitions from the Diaspora.

 

 

“National Assembly Vehicles Were Acquired From Philanthropists” -Director of Press

The Director of Press and Public Relations at the Presidency, Amie Bojang-Sissoho, has told journalists that the 57 vehicles that were handed over to members of the National Assembly last month, were acquired from some philanthropists who do not want to be named.
