Burning Issues : Neneh Macdouall Gaye Sacked as Ambassador

According to reports monitored by Foroyaa from The Gambia Radio and Television Services (GRTS) at the 6:00pm national news broadcast, Mrs. Neneh Macdouall Gaye, the recently appointed Gambia’s Ambassador to the United States, has been sacked with immediate effect.

According to the news release, the termination of the services of Mrs. Macdouall Gaye came from the president’s office with immediate effect, but the news release did not go into details as to the reason for the sacking of Mrs. Gaye.
Mrs. Neneh Macdouall Gaye, one of the longest serving personalities in the Jammeh administration, was a journalist with The Gambia Radio. She moved to the TV Section as news broadcaster. She was later moved to the cabinet as the Secretary of State (SoS) for Communications, Information and Information Technology. She had served at the portfolio for some years before being sacked. Later she was appointed as the Managing Director of the Daily Observer Newspaper. She did not stay long at observer and was later appointed as the Gambia’s Ambassador to the United States some months ago. Recently, during the July 22, coup anniversary, she was seen in many occasions among the dignitaries and diplomats gracing the occasion.
