After the untimely death of Alh. Foday Sarr Jammeh, District head chief of Upper Baddibou, in July 2009, the president of the republic has appointed Ebrima Ansu Tamba Jammeh, commonly known as E.J, as chief of the district, effective 14th October 2009.

E.J was born in 1985 at Yira Kunda in Illiassa, Upper Baddibou. He attended Illiassa, Kaiaf, Kinteh Kunda Janneh Yaa Primary School and Armitage High School and served in the defunct Livestock Marketing Board until 1988 when he quitted for career development on international procurement in Germany and England.
In the Diaspora, he served as protocol officer in the Sudanese Embassy in the United Kingdom, before returning home in 2006. He is presently working as a Customs Clearing and International Procurement agent.
E.J is also said to be talented in sports and is a youth activist in Upper Baddibou and Kombo Central as well as the leader of Yira Kunda Kambeng Kafoo.
His appointment letter as Chief of Upper Baddibou district was presented to him on Thursday 15th October, 2009 at the office of the Governor of NBR, Alh. Eduwar Seckan, in Kerewan.
This reporter visited Mr. Jammeh at his residence in Brikama where he expressed his happiness about his appointment by the president.. Mr. Jammeh promises to perform to expectations.
Mr. Jammeh calls his district and the entire people of the Gambia to unite as one. Mr. Ebrima Jammeh is a grandson to the late Mama Tamba Jammeh.
