Gunjur from starts piled pressure on Bakau plotting an all out assault, in most instances come close to scoring but the finishing touches were shortcoming. But Bakau whose starting line up comprises big name players, among them are Bademba Sanyang, veteran Assan Jatta and prolific Pa Amadou Gai were able to contained Gunjur in either halves, as they jealously gripped on their lone goal advantage.
Demba Sanyang’s out-stretch pass from the middle of the park found striker Assan Jatta unmarked who laid a through ball to partner Daddy Gai. Daddy Gai made a quick-witted dive the out of the box and ran to stretch a pass to Jatta who tapped it in the post half way in to the second-half. Bakau still continued to press hard as Daddy came close to scoring when he dribbled only to dive to the finishing in the penalty area and one of Gunjur’s defender appeared to have tackled him as he agitated for a penalty, but he could only get a bookable stern warning from the referee.
Gunjur resorted to on counter attacks as way to keep the opposing side at par one there clearest chance they squandered over to the cross bar. These strategies hardly hold together as they still conceded pressure to the end of the game.
