The ease with which the President went to pray in public, the lack of any security alert, the release of an ex-Lieutenant who was convicted of concealment of treason, the false alarms of countless number of people being arrested only for Foroyaa to discover them in their homes or work places, makes us to wonder what is really the reason for arresting the ex-Chief of Defence Staff.

The name of the Inspector General of police is being thrown about. One moment he is said to be arrested and another moment he is said to have foiled a coup attempt. However, the police PRO has nothing to say regarding the current happenings.
Wives are talking to relatives and are denying that their husbands have been engaged in anything related to a coup. Friends and close associates of those arrested are in a state of restlessness.
The seventy two hours limit for detention without court appearance has elapsed. At least charges should have been proffered by now and the public should have been informed of the facts. No Press Release! No Court Appearance! What is Going on? We are still searching for the real reason for the arrests and detentions.
