It was announced on GRTS Radio and Television in their 6pm and 8pm news, respectively, on Thursday 5 February, 2010 that President Jammeh has relieved 4 ministers from their cabinet positions and appointed 6 others.
The ministers who lost their positions included Mr. Ismaila Sambou; formerly minister of Local Government and Lands, Mr Antouman Saho; former minister of Fisheries, Water Resources and National Assembly Matters, Ms. Nancy Seedy Njie; former Minister of Tourism and Culture and Mr. Lamin Bojang; the former minister of Works, Construction and Infrastructure.

According to the press release from the office of the president, Jammeh in a similar vein has with effect from Thursday February 4, 2010, appointed Dr. Mamadou Tangara as Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology, Mr. Alagie A. Cham, Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Lamin Kabba Bajo as Minister of Fisheries, Water Resources and National Assembly Matters, Baboucarr H. M. Jallow as Minister of Trade, Industry and Employment, Fatou Mass Jobe, as as Minister of Tourism and Culture, and Pierre Tamba, Minister of Local Government and Lands.
The release further announced that the president has also assigned Mr. Yusupha Kah, the former minister of Trade, Industry and Employment, to the newly created ministry of Economy, National Planning and Industrial Development.
It is alo announced that the portfolio of the Ministry of Works, Construction and Infrastructure has been reassigned to the office of the president with effect from Thursday 4 February, 2010.
